Community Zinnia
Flower Cutting

The flowers at Ortenstone are stunning, and as the season nears its end, Project 412 invites the community to pick zinnias and share the beauty of the flowers with others.

To pick a flower is to pause long enough to notice beauty blooms quietly all around us.

You are invited!

Zinnia Flower Cutting

The flowers at Ortenstone are stunning, and as the blooming season nears its end, Project 412 invites the community to pick their own zinnias from the garden at Ortenstone and share the beauty of the flowers with others.

Please note:  Bring your own cutting shears, gloves, and a vase or wrapping for the flowers. Also, this is the only time the public is allowed to cut the zinnias. Please respect the flowers and land for all to enjoy!

Project 412 will also host a “seed gathering day” after the full freeze later this fall. That will be a time for the public to harvest zinnia seeds for their own gardens next spring.
